
There was a Transgender Participant at Miss Universe at 2018
The Miss Universe-2018 competition was held in the capital of Thailand, for the victory in which 94 girls fought.
The crown was handed over to the representative of the Philippines, 24-year-old Catrione Gray. The girl works as an actress, TV host, and photo model. She, also protects the rights of AIDS patients.

This year, a transgender, 27-year-old Angela Ponce, also fought for the title of first beauty and fulfilled her mission – to promote equality and defend the rights of minorities. Transgender participation was allowed since 2012, but no participant had gone beyond the national level before this.
