The Biggest Fashion Event in Armenia

Armenian Fashion industry entered a new era. Fashion Forum Yerevan 2018 – first big international fashion meeting that ever happened in Armenia. The opening ceremony was held on June 2 in Aram Khachaturian house-museum with many international influencers and local celebrities. The Minister of Culture of RA, Lilit Makunts, has also visited the opening ceremony.

The Forum was open for public from June 3-4, so the people could attend to workshops to gain knowledge and learn the experience from fashion experts during small power-talks. The guests-speakers also ran small workshops giving attendees more practical advices. The list of speakers featured Adam Katz Sinding (Street Style photographer), Gwyneth Holland (Trend forecast expert), Andrea Bruno (Director of Textile and Design department of the Design University of Italy), Xenya Cherny (fashion expert), Camille Boyer and Marlene Agreiter (Austrian Fashion Association), Katya Gousset (fashion blogger, Instagram influencer), Maxim Getman (Fashion photographer) and Anton Yeremenko (fashion editor).

The aesthetic part of the forum was the exhibition of artworks from about 50 fashion designers from Armenia and 11 from Diasporas in Germany, France, Lebanon, Syria, Ukraine, US and Russia. All collections presented were a vivid reflection of their works expressing fashion through diversity of styles – from ethnic to casual, evening to architectural. The styling process was curated by fashion designer Vahan Khachatryan and stylist Lucine Ananian. In addition, the exhibition also had several works from TUMO students giving a space for youngsters to share their talent and aptitude.

Fashion Forum Yerevan 2018 was implemented in the framework of EU4Business “Support to SME Development in Armenia” (SMEDA) project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ’s Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Programme.
