How Many Times You Can Wear Your Clothes Before Washing Them?
Each of us has held worn clothing in our hands and wondered if we should wear it one more time or put it in the washing machine. Not everyone knows all the rules for washing. For example, you need to wash some clothing inside out, because it absorbs bodily fluids which are primarily inside. And sometimes our stuff is much dirtier than it looks.
We have compiled a list of the number of times you can wear different items of clothing before you have to wash them.
A regular topic of conversation is how often you should wear your jeans before washing them. Your parents would say that you need to do it every time, even after one wear. But your friends insist that you could ruin your jeans and that they might lose their color if you wash them too often.
That being said, the optimal number of wears is 5-6 times.
T-Shirts and tops
You should treat your t-shirts like underwear because they are in a very close contact with your skin and absorb the biggest portion of sweat. Wash them each and every time after wearing them. The only exception is if you were wearing it for one hour or less.
No need to wash your dresses after each wear because this can ruin the fabric and its color, especially if you are wearing a shirt under it. But if you were wearing the dress over a whole hot day in the summer, it is better to wash it after one use, because it soaked up lots of sweat.
In comparison to underwear, you don’t have to wash it each time. As long as you’re airing it out between wears, you can use it up to 4 times. This doesn’t count sport bras.
Socks, tights, and stockings
Since childhood, everyone has known about the rules for wearing socks. Our moms insisted that we wash them after each wear. And this is true. Just imagine how much bacteria and dirt you collect with your feet.
Don’t be lazy — wash your sportswear every time after wearing it to the gym. It doesn’t matter how long you were training, you were still sweating and touching different machines and devices.
The bad smell of dirty pajamas can spoil your peaceful slumber and make you feel tired. Take care of your sleep and keep your pajamas clean. It’s always better to take a shower before sleeping, and in this case you can use them up to 4 times.
Clean your shoes each time they get dirty and according to their condition. But be careful not to destroy them with water.
